Identification of TMEM106B as a receptor mediating ACE2-independent SARS-CoV-2 cell entry.

Our research lab has recently identified TMEM106B from a CRISPR-KO screen. Following this, we characterized TMEM106B and learned its function as a receptor mediating ACE2-independent SARS-CoV-2 cell entry. This research has been published in Cell.

Custom charcoal cover made for TMEM106B Cell publication by Stijn Vandebril.

For our recent publication “Identification of TMEM106B as a receptor mediating ACE2-independent SARS-CoV-2 cell entry” published in Cell, artist Stijn Vandebril made a stunning custom charcoal cover.
